Soft Pretzels

Ingredients
- 1½ cups Hot water
- 1 pkg. Dry yeast
- 1/3 cup Brown sugar
- 5 cups Flour
- Baking soda
Directions
Combine yeast with 1/8 cup hot water in large bowl. Add rest of hot water and brown sugar. Slowly add flour, stirring until mixture leaves sides of bowl. Put dough on floured board and knead until smooth and elastic. Pinch the dough out about the size of a golf ball and roll into a 14 inch rope and form into pretzel shape. Drop into gently boiling water ( 1 Tbsp. Baking soda for each cup of water) for 30 seconds. Take out with slotted spatula. Place on greased cookie sheet that has been sprinkled with coarse kosher salt. Sprinkle with additional salt and bake at 475 deg for about 8 minutes or until golden brown.
