Turtle Nut Bars

 

Ingredients

  • Bars: 1 cup Butter/oleo
  • ¾ cups Baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 4 large Eggs – beaten
  • 1¼ cups Flour
  • ½ cup Milk choc chips
  • Topping: 1/3 cup Pecan pieces
  • 1/3 cup Cashew pieces
  • ½ cup Milk choc chips
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce

Directions

Bars:

Microwave butter until melted. Stir in mixture of sugar and cocoa. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add mixture of flour and salt to baking cocoa mix and stir until just blended. Stir in choc chips. Spread in greased 8 x 8 pan. Bake 45 min. @ 350 deg (or until pick comes out clean).

Topping:

Toss nuts and chips in a bowl. Spread hot bars with caramel sauce and sprinkle with the nut mixture. Bake 5 min. longer. Cool before cutting.
