Ruth’s Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Buttermilk or sour milk
  • ½ cup Oil
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • ½ cup Cocoa
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • ¾ cup Boiling water
  • 1 tsp. Salt

Directions

Combine egg, milk and oil. Sift dry ingredients together. Blend all ingredients alternately with the boiling water until well mixed. Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350 deg for 35 minutes. Frost with fudge frosting or any other of your choice.

Have had this recipe for years and made it seldom, but very good moist cake.
