Swedish Tea Logs

 

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Dry yeast
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 2¼ cup Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Butter/Oleo
  • ¼ cup Ev Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • ¼ cup Chopped raisins
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered Sugar
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla

Directions

Soften yeast in water. Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Cut in ½ c butter. Add evaporated milk, egg, raisins and the yeast. Mix well, cover and chill 2 hrs or overnight. Cream ¼ c butter and brown sugar and add pecans. Divide dough in thirds and roll out on a floured surface each in a 12 x 6 in rectangle. Spread each with filling and roll up starting with the 12 in. side. Seal and place on cookie sheet lined with foil. Make cuts along outside edge 1 in. apart to within ½ in. of center. Turn cuts on sides and raise in warm place about 45 min. Bake @ 350 deg for 20- 25 minutes.

Frost while warm with glaze made as follows:

Brown 2 Tbsp. butter, add powdered sugar and ½ tsp. vanilla. Stir in 1-2 tsp. evaporated milk until separable.

Makes 3 Logs.

A little putsy but well worth it. Great for bake sales.
