Easy Almond Kringle

 

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • ½ cup Oleo
  • 1 cup Sifted flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Cold water
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ cup Oleo
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Almond flavoring

Directions

Crust:

Mix like pie crust. Divide into 2 parts. Pat each into strips about 10x7 in. on ungreased cookie sheet.

Filling:

Heat water and oleo to boiling. Remove from heat and flour and mix well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in flavoring. Spread over base pieces covering each completely. Bake @ 400 deg for 45 min. Let cool. Frost with 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp. butter and ½ tsp. almond flavoring and milk (to spreading consistency).

So good but needs to be eaten same day as doesn’t freeze well.
