Lemon Bread

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Melted butter
- 1¼ cup Sugar (divided)
- 2 lg Eggs
- ¼ tsp. Almond extract
- 1½ cup Sifted flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Baking powder
- ½ cup Milk
- ½ cup Nuts
- 1 Tbsp. Grated lemon peel
- 3 Tbsp. Fresh lemon juice
Directions
Blend butter and 1 cup sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add almond extract. Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Blend just to mix. Fold in lemon peel & nuts. Bake in greased loaf pan @ 350 deg for metal & 325 deg for glass. Bake 50-60 min.
Glaze:
Mix lemon juice and remaining ¼ cup sugar. Immediately spoon over hot loaf. Cool 10 min. and remove from pan. Cool further on rack.
